The wife is gone for a week. Off to a business conference for work and all that.
I suppose I am supposed to be super productive while she is gone. We will see if that kicks in tomorrow maybe.
I spent today with the wife, looking for couches, taking her out to dinner, watching a movie. I recommend everyone to, every now and then, take a whole day out and spend time with someone you care about.
The new blog! 533 Comments March 29
Yet again I have another blog and all my permalinks break and google cries a little.
I installed chyrp (easy install, wonderful UI) and it's cool and all, but it's not a long term solution for me.
Chyrp stores all the posts as xml in a text field, so importing all of my old posts from my simplelog database won't be easy. I was able to import all of my tumblr posts, so that is what you are seeing on the site. I already wasted enough time setting up yet another blogging software for my personal site.
I won't be happy until I make my own blog app anyway, but I figure I can work on the front end with this chyrp install while I make my own merb powered blog in my spare time. Yeah, all the spare time I have.
Just wanted to let you know what not to do…
Don’t make a symlink to /usr as /opt and then install macports. Macports will think that the /opt (which is really /usr) is where it should install all of it’s port crap. I mean it pollutes it. Well, not as bad as git, but it’s not good to just have all that crap lying around. Either way, I gotta fix this mess now.
Man.
Update
Also, don’t rename /usr to /old_usr
Because if you try something like: sudo mv /usr /old_usr; sudo mv /new_usr /usr it will say sudo command not found for the second command.
You won’t even be able to shutdown.
Happy Easter (via .eti)
My wife posted about my Grandfather.
Pretty soon I will write about the birds.
Tell that to my portlet
